Who is the root of Ananta Śeṣa? Baladeva Prabhu is the root. The catur-vyūha of Dvārakā—Saṅkarṣaṇa, Aniruddha, Vāsudeva, and Pradyumna—are the expansions of Baladeva Prabhu. The part of Mūla-Saṇkarṣaṇa in Vaikuṇṭha is called Mahā-Saṇkarṣaṇa. The expansion of Mahā-Saṇkarṣaṇa is called Kāraṇodaśāyī Viṣṇu. The expansion of Kāraṇodaśāyī Viṣṇu is called
Garbhodaśāyī Viṣṇu. The expansion of Garbhodaśāyī Viṣṇu is called Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu. The root of all these expansions is Baladeva Prabhu, who resides in Vṛndāvana.
